So you want to buy or sell crypto? Well, we are here to teach you how in the simplest way possible. In this article, we will deal with buying or selling crypto via Zelle.
What is Zelle? Zelle is a new technology introduced by banks in the USA that allows you to send money or receive money to anyone who has a bank account in the USA using an email and name of the account holder. Before doing any of the following, make sure to call up your bank and confirm that they have activated Zelle for you. Zelle uses the same email that your bank uses to send you alerts. Zelle can also use a phone number that your bank uses to send you alerts.
To Buy Crypto using Zelle:
1. Register on MoonTrade.org and verify your email.
2. Go to 'Buy' page
3. Click on 'Payment Methods' and select 'Zelle' from the drop-down box.
4. Select the cryptocurrency or token you would like to purchase (Bitcoin is selected by default, but you can choose Ethereum, Ripple etc.)
5. Select a Seller and click on the Big Blue 'Buy' button.
6. Read the seller's terms and conditions and what is the minimum and maximum amount they sell.
7. Enter the amount you want to purchase in US dollars or in crypto in the order form.
8. Click on the Big Blue 'Order' button.
9. Once your order starts, wait for the seller to send you their Zelle email and name.
10. Login to your bank app or website, go to 'Transfers' ->'Send Money'
11. Enter the seller email, name and amount in the 'Send Funds' form of your bank app. Confirm and send.
12. Come back to MoonTrade.org and Click on 'Mark As Paid'
13. The seller will check for the funds and release the crypto to you once he has received the money. It usually takes less than 5 minutes but sometimes it may take up to a day for the bank to send the money from your account to the seller's account.
14. Once the seller releases the crypto you will get a web notification along with an audible chime, an email and a text message (if you have signed up for text notifications).
15. The released crypto will be in your 'Wallet', click on 'Wallet' to see it and then you are free to do with it what you want.
16. Don't forget to leave feedback for the seller!
To Sell Crypto using Zelle:
1. Register on MoonTrade.org and verify your email. Once done, go to 'Wallet' -> (Select Bitcoin/Ethereum/etc) -> 'Receive' and send some crypto to your wallet. Once the crypto is in your MoonTrade wallet you will get a web notification with an audible chime, an email and a text message. Wait to receive the crypto before trying to sell.
2. Go to 'Sell' page
3. Click on 'Payment Methods' and select 'Zelle' from the drop-down box.
4. Select the cryptocurrency or token you would like to sell (Bitcoin is selected by default, but you can choose Ethereum, Ripple etc.)
5. Select a Buyer and click on the Big Green 'Sell' button.
6. Read the Buyer's terms and conditions and what is the minimum and maximum amount they buy.
7. Enter the amount you want to sell in US dollars or in crypto in the order form.
8. Click on the Big Blue 'Order' button.
9. Once your order starts, send the buyer your Zelle email and name and wait for them to respond.
10. The Buyer will message you and confirm they have paid.
11. Always ask for a screenshot of payment made by the Buyer. And then login to your bank and check whether they have sent the funds to you.
12. Once the Buyer has paid they will confirm and you will get a web notification along with an audible chime, an email and a text message (if you have signed up for text notifications).
13. Now click on 'Finalize Order' to release the crypto to buyer if everything is fine.
14. The released crypto will be deducted from your 'Wallet', and the money paid for it will be in your bank account.
15. Don't forget to leave feedback for the Buyer!
Risks
For Seller:
Zelle payments are reversible. Make sure that you ask for a reasonable amount of proof before releasing the crypto. Screenshots can be faked, if you are in doubt, call your bank and confirm that you have received the money . Sometimes, Zelle can be reversed even after Payment but usually only within a short period of time. Be careful!
For Buyer:
If the seller says he did not receive the Zelle payment, contact your bank and have them confirm. When talking to Banks always remember, Banks do not like cryptocurrency, so any mention of cryptocurrency may get you banned from the Bank that has been holding your money for decades.
